Shipping Policy
Biostok Foliage Inc. is a wholesale nursery specializing in live plants. Due to the nature of our products, shipping policies are designed to ensure the best possible condition upon arrival while accounting for logistics, weather, and carrier limitations.
Shipping Methods
We offer multiple shipping options depending on order size, destination, and customer preference. Available methods include FedEx Freight pallet shipments, LTL trucking companies, and local pickup. In some cases, alternative trucking options may be arranged. Shipping method selection is confirmed prior to shipment.
Shipping Schedule
Shipping schedules may vary depending on carrier availability, order volume, and weather conditions. FedEx Freight shipments typically follow carrier scheduling, while LTL shipments operate on the trucking company’s assigned routes and timelines.
We actively monitor weather conditions and may delay or hold shipments when conditions are unfavorable, particularly for FedEx Freight plant shipments during cold weather. Orders shipped via LTL trucking are not subject to the same weather restrictions, as these shipments utilize temperature-controlled semi-trailers.
Payment & Order Release
All orders must be paid in full prior to shipping. We operate on a COD-only basis, and no orders will be released or shipped until payment has been received and confirmed. We do not offer payment terms at this time.
Weather Considerations & Insulation
We ship year-round but carefully evaluate weather conditions before releasing orders. For FedEx Freight plant shipments, insulation is strongly recommended for deliveries to cold-weather regions. Insulation helps reduce the risk of temperature-related damage during transit.
For periods of high heat or heat waves, insulation is not recommended, as sealed pallets may trap heat and increase the risk of damage. Customers are encouraged to consider their local weather conditions when placing orders and to communicate any concerns in advance so shipping can be planned accordingly.
For LTL shipments, customer-arranged transportation, or local pickup, Biostok Foliage Inc. does not provide weather protection guidance, and customers are responsible for determining appropriate shipping conditions or reaching out if they are unsure.
If a customer declines recommended protection for FedEx Freight shipments, Biostok Foliage Inc. cannot be held responsible for temperature-related damage.
Transit Times & Delays
Delivery timelines depend on the shipping method selected. FedEx Freight shipments generally follow the carrier’s quoted transit times. LTL trucking shipments operate on the trucking company’s schedule, which is outside of our control. Local pickup orders must be collected by the customer.
Once an order has been released to the carrier, Biostok Foliage Inc. is not responsible for carrier delays, including delays caused by weather, routing changes, or logistical issues.
Claims & Damages
All damage or loss must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Claims must include clear photos and a detailed list of affected quantities. Claims submitted without proper documentation or outside the required timeframe will not be accepted.
Approved claims are issued as account credit only. Refunds are not provided.
Local Pickup
Local pickup is available. Customers are asked to notify us in advance of their intended pickup time. Appointments are not required for pickup; however, customers wishing to receive a facility tour must schedule an appointment ahead of time. Inspection at pickup is not required.
Shipping Costs (FedEx Freight)
Shipping costs for FedEx Freight shipments are added to the same invoice as the order. Final shipping charges are subject to confirmation from FedEx. If there is a difference between the estimated and final cost, the remaining balance will be charged once the carrier invoice is received.
Shipping costs for LTL shipments or customer-arranged transportation are handled separately and are not included in Biostok Foliage Inc. invoices.
